A B O U T T H E A U T H O R S DAVID A. F. ELLIS, MD. FRCS(C), FACS graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1966. Dr. Ellis completed his fellowship residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of Toronto. Immediately following this residency, Dr. Ellis took a post-residency fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Ellis was chairman of Continuing Medical Education of his university department from 1984 to 1988. He has been Director of CME programs at the University of Toronto; since 1984 he has been a moderator of Telemedicine (Distant Education) for the Department of Otolaryngology; he has been invited to lecture on Facial Plastic Surgery for numerous continuing medical education programs run by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and many American and Canadian universities. He has also written many papers for medical publications. Dr. Ellis is past president of the Canadian Institute of Facial Plastic Surgery, past Canadian vice-president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Past Secretary of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology - head and Neck Surgery. KAREN O’REILLY has been a freelance writer since the l980s. Her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, several Canadian magazines and on CBC-television. In 1990, she co-wrote Running Risks with Martin O’Malley and Angella Issajenko. |
