About Face
In Closing..... I SINCERELY HOPE that those of you who have taken the time to read this book are now fully confident about what to expect from a facial cosmetic surgeon. Facial cosmetic surgery is not the work of magicians, as I have explained, but rather the ability of well trained specialists to find beauty where it exists and show it to a patient’s best advantage. Finding beauty is sometimes a humble matter of disguising a scar or removing the bump from a nose. Other times, it does have magical qualities if we are able to restore a patient’s dignity with reconstructive surgery following an accident, or restore a patient’s confidence by altering the more obvious effects of aging. But most of the time, finding beauty in all its variety comes from within - when a patient connects with the self-esteem that shines through every gesture, and every expression, to make the world a better place. I leave you now with a few words by Carl Gustav Jung, in his book Modern Man in Search of a Soul: And finally, a word of thanks to my patients for their goodwill, trust and encouragement. Without them, this book would not have been possible. |
