When most people think of botox injections they think it is only for getting rid of wrinkles on your face, but that is just not the case. Botox injections also offer healing benefits that you would have never guessed. There are many issues that botox can fix and in this post we are going to name the other 2 most popular uses for botox injections.

The first use for botox other than removing wrinkles is that you can slow down and stop over active sweat glands. There are many people out there who suffer from a condition called hyperhidrosis which is when you sweat profusely and uncontrollably for no reason. If this is an issue you deal with on a regular basis than you need to be aware that getting botox injections can help to alleviate this.

With a few simple injections to the affected area you will soon see that your uncontrollable and unwanted sweating will cease to exist. You will not have to worry about getting embarrassing sweat stains when you have a big meeting any longer. Thanks to botox injections you will never have to worry about embarrassing sweat stains ever again.

The second thing that botox injections can help to relieve that most people are unaware of is headaches, yes those annoying and for some people crippling headaches can be a thing of the past thanks to botox.

If you suffer from excruciating migraine headaches than you really should consider getting botox treatment to help relieve some if not all of the pain and be able to continue with your everyday life without the worry of an unsuspecting migraine hitting you at the worst possible time.

So now that you know a couple serious conditions that botox can help you with maybe it is time to consider looking into botox injections and all of the other things they can do for you, because life is too short to deal with little inconveniences and if something that stops you from carrying out your daily life can be treated by botox isn’t it time that you had it done?

Facelift versus injectable fillers

As we age, everyone now knows that we lose the skins elasticity and we start to sag. This occurs in women in their late 40s and in men a decade afterwards. However, another problem does occur, and that is the lack of fat in the face specifically the cheeks initially. Everyone can remember their grandparents who have large linear indentations often medically referred to as “malar grooves”. What has happened is that there is excessive sagging of the cheek area, but greater loss of fat in the center of the cheeks.

Women in their late 40s will often slow this aging process by injection of fillers into the cheek mounds. Hyaluronic acids such as Juvederm or Voluma are often used. In some patients the volume loss is greater than the sag. In these cases cheek augmentation will often prevent the early necessity of a facelift. However injectable fillers such as Juvederm Toronto do not correct problems in the neck as neck problems usually require surgery from correcting the two vertical bands in the neck or excessive fat.

The correct diagnosis of which technology to use will depend on the assessment by someone who does both injectable fillers and surgical technique. Facial plastic surgeons deal solely with the face and are a good recommendation.

Non-surgical Nose shaping

Have you ever consider nose surgery and was afraid of surgery. Some of my patients do not like their nose, but are afraid of surgery. One popular alternative is using injectable fillers Toronto, such as Juvederm Toronto, Voluma, or Radiesse. User a filler can augment low nasal dorsums, correct crooked noses, balance asymmetrical tips as a result of a previous rhinoplasty Toronto, and fill up depressed nasal spine area which is at the junction of the collumella part of the nose and the upper lip. These are the common areas that can be augmented. This is especially true in Asian and African American patients who do not want surgery at this time of their life. This procedure is done in the office and patients experience very minimal pain. Juvederm Toronto has freezing built into it hence patients find it almost painless. Patients usually walked out with minimal if any bruising and we asked them to return in two weeks in case further injections may be needed.

Injectable fillers are not permanent, but can last up to 18 months before further injections are required. Juvederm Toronto will dissolve out faster. At that time, consideration of surgery or further injections can be made by the patient or continue with injectable fillers.

Patients wanting injectable rhinoplasties are very busy and do not want the time off required by surgery. Following injectable rhinoplasty, patients are usually socially acceptable that night if they don’t bruise.

My patients and I at Art of Facial Surgery have been very pleased with the response of this simple three-step skincare line for the treatment of active acne and acne prone oily skin. Using ZO Skin Health Offects Exfoliating Cleanser, Offects TE-pads Acne Pore Treatment and Offects Exfoliating Polish, patients responded extremely well with the improvement of the physical properties of their skin and the decrease in the formation of acne comedones.

Once the active acne is under control, further improvement can be made with use of Limelight IPL by Cutera, which can reduce the redness very significantly with as little as 3 treatments. In darker skinned individuals such as Blacks and Asians, we have a special laser technology called Laser Genesis, which heats up the deeper layers of the skin, not involving the surface. This leads to smoothness of the collagen and decrease in the redness of the skin. Combination skincare treatments seem to give the best advantage to the patients.

Are crow’s feet making you look older?

Crow’s feet or squint lines are wrinkles that occur at the outer corner of your eyes. You can see those lines when you smile and can make one appear older.

The crow’s feet can be treated in several ways. The first is the use of Botox Cosmetic. Botox is often used as a preventative measure so that the permanent intradermal lines take a long time to form.

Once the lines are etched in the skin, ablative laser technology must be used to smooth out the wrinkles. Fractionated ablative lasers such as the CO2 FRAXEL re:pair, the Cutera’s YSGG laser remove microscopic columns of skin and stimulate new collagen to be laid down smoothing out the lines in the skin. These are permanent changes to the skin. Using these lasers, there is approximately a week of downtime where there will be weeping of the skin for the first few days. Often Botox Toronto is used to quieten the muscle prior to ablative laser resurfacing.

The use of hyaluronic acid injectable fillers placed subcutaneously under the skin in a linear fern type of fashion is another option. Using this technique there can be significant bruising, because of the hidden veins in this area. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Toronto or Restylane Toronto are temporary. Botox is also used to quieten the muscle prior to the injection.

Another treatment option is the use of medical grade skin care such as ZO skin health. ZO skin health Toronto will address fine line and wrinkles for the crow’s feet and other area on the face.

Combination treatments are often the best treatment options to get rid of those crow’s feet.

Did you know there’s a solution for aging brows in bald men.

As men and women age their eyebrows fall, giving a very sad heavy appearance to the eyes. They do not become bright eyed and bushy tailed and enthusiastic. Traditionally in women, an incision is made in the hairline and surgeries performed to raise the eyebrows into a very natural position, giving the eyes of wider and larger appearance. However, with bald men the scars must be hidden. Dr. Ellis can perform a forehead lift to raise the eyebrows through an incision in the upper eyelids. Using this technique, there is no scarring on the forehead or scalp in bald men. Men recover in about 10 to 14 days. This procedure is called a trans-blepharoplasty forehead lift.

Dark circles under the eyes are an increase in relative darkness of the Emperor orbital skin relative to the cheek skin below. In dark skinned Caucasians, Asians, Blacks, this problem can start early in life. It also can occur in lighter skin Caucasians. Young children with allergies are often known to have “allergic shiners”.

There are 3 major causes of the dark circles. Excessive pigmentation of the skin is the most common, followed by hollowing under the eyes or protuberant fat pads creating shadows that appear as dark circles. In very light skin Caucasians with their thin translucent lower eyelid skin, the blood vessels under the skin and in the muscle appear dark and purpleish. This is the so-called “allergic shiners” in children, but also can occur in all ages.

There are some congenital and hereditary conditions that lend to the increased pigmentation, but the most common is pigmentation caused by inflammation such as allergy + the constant rubbing of the lower eyelids or pigmentation due to the aging process.

It is important to know the cause of the dark circles under the eyes because the treatment can be very different depending on the cause. Hollowing under the eyes causing dark circles is corrected with injectable fillers most commonly Juvederm Ultra Plus with Lidocaine. The sunken appearance lessens and the dark circles improve. If the lower eyelid have bags causing shadows under the bags then the bags have to be surgically removed either through an incision behind the lower eyelid or under the lash line. Dr. Ellis will be able to answer all your questions in the treatment of these types of dark circles.

Increased pigmentation in the skin needs to be treated with a combination of topical cream applications such as Teamine cream or Dermamalan cream. At the same time multiple treatments with laser Genesis is performed to help improve the pigmentation. Pigmentation under the eyes in darker skin people is difficult to completely eradicate but significant improvement can be seen.

Those patients in which have very translucent skin and are adults can be treated with topical creams to build up collagen in the skin along with some injectable fillers to thicken the skin. Occasionally fat transfer under the thin eyelid skin can offer some thickness to camouflage and improve the dark circles.

What are the major facts about Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a medical term used for plastic surgery of the nose. This procedure is commonly performed to enhance the function as well as the appearance of the nose. This surgery is also known as a “nose job”. This surgery was first carried out by an Indian physician named Sushruta who is known as the “father of plastic surgery”. He used this technique to reconstruct the noses that were removed as a punishment of different crimes. These days, it is in use for aesthetic reasons around the world and people of Toronto are making use of this surgical method. There are a number of experienced and skilled surgeons in Toronto for this type of surgery. It is due to these facts that rhinoplasty Toronto is well renowned around the world. Not only is this blepharoplasty Toronto i.e. the surgery of eyelids well addressed here in this great city of Toronto. In other simple words, blepharoplasty Toronto and rhinoplasty Toronto both are well addressed in Toronto and one who needs any of these surgeries must visit this city for the best results. This underlined article will focus on the rhinoplasty Toronto only.

Let us discuss rhinoplasty surgery briefly. Whenever rhinoplasty is performed, the dorsal bone is reduced followed by resetting as well as refinement of nasal tip cartilage. This surgery is done with the help of local or general anesthesia. Incisions made during the surgery are inside the nostrils and sometimes tiny incisions are also made on the skin separating the nostrils. What the surgeon does separates the soft tissues of the nose and then reshapes the bone as well as cartilage. Rhinoplasty Toronto is one of those procedures where little pain is associated after the surgery and only requires one to two weeks for recovery. If there are external sutures, then they are usually removed after 4 to 5 days of the surgery. External cast is commonly removed three to five days after surgery.

Swelling usually can take up to six months to a year to go down and bruising usually will start to fade after two weeks. The patient may also feel shifting and setting of the nose for the first year.

In 2010, over 250 thousand people had Rhinoplasty surgery, hence Rhinoplasty Toronto, is one of the more popular surgeries in Toronto. Find is an experienced and skilled facial plastic surgeon in Toronto is key to achieving great results.

People undergo double eyelid surgery when they are looking to achieve double eyelid creases. This procedure is known as Asian blepharoplasty. This type of surgery is a cosmetic procedure where the skin around the eye is reshaped. The purpose of this procedure is to create a crease on the upper eyelid where normally there is no crease. Asian Blepharoplasty is more common among those of Asian descent although there are Asians with double eyelids and some without.

The upper eyelid fold can enhance the beauty of the eyes, allow the eyes to appear naturally bigger and the crease also creates a platform for better application of cosmetics. Asians and Caucasians could be born with no or very shallow upper eyelid creases. Surgical enhancement of the eyelid fold or double eyelid surgery has always been popular especially among Asians.

Asian blepharoplasty surgeries are carried out around the world but Toronto is a place where these are frequently done and thus blepharoplasty Toronto is well known around the world. Double eyelid surgery is commonly done for cosmetic reasons and is done in conjunction with rejuvenation of the upper eyelid.

The procedure of blepharoplasty Toronto or double eyelid surgery is commonly performed under conscious sedation. The Asian blepharoplasty surgery is performed externally with an incision and closed with nylon sutures.

Common risks with this procedure and most facial plastic procedures include bruising, swelling, infection, wound opening and asymmetry.
