Facial Plastic Surgery Consultation Toronto
At this time you will want to meet the staff and Dr. Ellis. You will be asked what improvements you wish to have. Make a list so that all your concerns will be covered. Dr Ellis and the staff will discuss your goals and expectations and will analyze your face, skin type, bone structure, and your general state of health so that all the options available can be explained to you. They will review the expected outcome, the normal post operative course, and complications of each alternative. Whether you want injections or complex surgery, Dr Ellis and his staff will give you options to decide which would be the best choice for you to give you the best facial refinement possible.
The cost of the initial consultation is $150.00. At the end of your consultation, Dr. Ellis will give you more detailed written information and you will want to book your surgery.

At this time, you may wish to have digital imaging to see what you would look like after surgery. Digital imaging is excellent for rhinoplasty surgery, but less important for anti-aging surgery. At the conclusion, Dr Ellis will give you more detailed written information, and you will want to book your surgery or have the injection the day of consultation. Once the decision is made, a date for surgery is set and a standard consent form is signed. You will then have blood, urine tests and an ECG (depending on age) prior to surgery.
Dr. Ellis feels that the more knowledge you have prior to your procedure the less anxious you will be. Our highly qualified staff will answer any questions you have regarding your surgical procedure and provide you with comprehensive written instructions to answer commonly asked questions prior to your procedure. Our goal is to provide full assistance and support during this important period.
Most anesthesias are performed under "Conscious Sedation" whereby patients are sedated with drugs that give you temporary amnesia for the surgical period. This type of anesthesia is virtually painless. For longer surgeries, "TIVA" anesthesia is used. "TIVA" stands for Total Intravenous Anesthesia. This is more like a general anesthetic, but with the side effects greatly diminished. This is given by one of our anesthesiologists. The difference between these 2 types of anesthesia will be explained to you at the initial consultation. You may choose which type you prefer.
Immediately following your surgical procedure, you will be assisted to the recovery room until you are ready for discharge. You must have a responsible adult to look after you for the first 24 hrs. Post-operative care is prescribed according to your individual needs. Our staff will provide complete written instructions and a doctor will be available post-operatively to assist you. To ensure that you have a safe and comfortable post-operative experience and to answer any last minute questions you may have, you will get a telephone call from us the night of your surgery.
You will be asked to return for a post-operative visit 1-3 days following your surgery and periodically afterwards to follow your progress when healing.
