Our skin's surface is constantly going the aging process producing the 3 "UGLIES" of facial skin aging. The three are redness, pigmentation, and roughness. The most common problem seen by the doctors and our skin care specialists is brown spots on the face medically called hyperpigmentation. In darker skin individuals, these can occur in the early 30's. It is a result of the type of skin you have, your exposure to the sun, and some hormonal imbalance. Treatment consists of medical home care products with office treatment of specialized chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser light therapy. The smaller and lighter the brown spots the better the improvement. As we age, some of our faces get blotchy red often due to a very common inherited skin problem called "Acne Rosacea". Alcohol ingestion can temporarily make the redness worse. • Lactic Acid Peel: Will help eliminate small wrinkles and sun-damaged skin. Strengths, 30, 40 & 50%
• Salicylic Acic Peel: Will help improve the appearance of acne scars, sun damaged skin and wrinkles. Strenghts, 10, 20 & 30%
• Mandelic Peel: Is extracted from almond and is best for skins that is combined with sun damaged, acne and hyperpigmentation. Strenghts, 30, 40 & 50%
• Glycolic Acid Peel: Will help with expression wrinkles, acne and scarring associated with acne, sun spotting and photo-aging. Strenghts 20, 35, 50 & 70%

Microdermabrasion

Dead surface skin is eliminated as the deeper layers of skin are penetrated. With this action, substances similar to collagen are increasingly produced. Not only does the skin feel silkier, it also takes on a healthy, brighter appearance. Acne can also be treated as the pores of the skin are unclogged. Hyperpigmentation, or brown spots, can be treated by microdermabrasion and with the increase of skin plumping material, fine lines are eliminated. Superficial skin cells require maintenance every two months in order to keep the skin looking its best.
