Smartlift Toronto

What is Smartlifting?

Smartlifting is a new technique in facial rejuvenation and is a more gentle approach to the facelift procedure. When compared to traditional face lifts, Smartlifting has fewer side effects and a quicker recovery period. Cynosure's SmartLipo laser allows the surgeon to smoothly separate the layer between the skin and facial muscles without extensive cutting and dissection. The laser helps to seal off blood vessels before the lifting portions of the facelift operation begin resulting in less bruising. The laser also has the added benefit of strengthening collagen in the facial skin to reduce advanced facial wrinkles

How does Smartlifting work?

In a traditional facelift incisions are made next to the ear and then the skin is lifted off the facial muscles with scissors or scalpels. With Smartlifting, the laser precisely delivers thousands of tiny laser pulses into the layer separating the skin from the deeper tissues of the face. Each pulse heats a deep column of tissue which allows a separation to occur between the two layers. These zones of heating coagulate the tissue and stimulate collagen production to tighten the skin.

What are the advantages of SmartLifting with SmartLipo compared to other face lifting techniques? When Smartlipo is used to lift the facial flap, the hemostatic effects of the laser cause significantly less bleeding, so you experience much less bruising. Smartlifting also causes skin tightening through tissue coagulation and collagen stimulation, effects which are not possible with traditional facelift techniques. Since a Smartlifting procedure typically takes just over an hour and can be done with local anesthesia or mild sedation. Read more
